Back in May I covered Johanna & Darrens Wedding. Anna & I arrived at Whitsands Hotel and Golf Club to cover the Bridal Prep. Johanna was extremely calm and relaxed considering all that was going on around her and the big day that was ahead of her. We spent around an hour with her getting the bridal portraits, dress shots and the details then we made our way back to Plymouth to meet up with Darren and cover the ceremony.

It was held at the Emanuel church in Manadon Plymouth. This is one of the largest churches in the city and it was full with guests. The level of care and detail that went into the whole wedding was amazing particularly the ceremony. They hired a gospel choir from Exeter, Devon that really gave this part of the day a lift and created an extra happy atmosphere.

Whitsands Hotel is right on the cliffs near a small beach which is why Johanna & Darren chose to travel from London back to Plymouth (Johanna’s childhood home) to have the coastal wedding which is so important to them.

The weather was not the best but could have been much worse, we decided to do the formal family shots inside but the weather did clear in the evening to allow us to get down on to the beach for the bride and groom shoots.

In the evening there was a brilliant band who were all friends of Johanna & Darren’s giving it that extra special personal connection.
