I’m finally catching up with some weddings from a very busy summer and thought i’d start by blogging Sophie & Matts wedding at River Cottage HQ just outside Axminster in Devon.

This was one of my favourites from this year. A small intimate wedding with so much personality put into the day. My stand out memory from the day is how happy and friendly everyone was, a really lovely feel to the day which just flowed. No strict timetables to follow. I felt like one of the guests at times and I hope this is reflected in the photos.

We started the day in Ottery St Mary for Sophie’s Bridal prep, then onto St Mary’s Church Whimple for the service.

It was my first visit to River Cottage and one i’d been looking forward to for some time. Situated in the bottom of the valley we all had to get a tractor and trailer ride to the house which was surrounded by a fantastic garden in full summer bloom.

The food looked incredible and all sourced locally or grown on the farm as you’d expect from the team at River cottage.
