I like to think that I build a good relationship with all my wedding couples. The better we get to know each other the more relaxed the couples are with their photos and this is one of the main reasons I offer the pre wedding shoots and E-Shoots. With Sophie & Chris I felt this relationship was particularly strong as over the past 12 months I’ve photographed not only their E-shoot but also Tim & Sarah’s (Sophie’s brother & Sister in law) wedding back in October. Getting to know the couples is a great advantage as you learn the relationships within the family and this helps me spot potential photos happening before they happen. All of Sophie and Chris friends, family and equally Sarah and Tim have been through a very tough 12 months. Knowing a small bit of what they’ve been through helped me to hopefully sensitively capture some very special moments that they will all cherish forever. I know that amongst the tough times there have been some great times and I’m very proud and honoured to have been able to help out on 2 occasions. I hope my pictures make them and the family smile, perhaps even a few happy tears for many years to come.
Sophie & Chris from Lee Mill Near Ivybridge were married at Shilstone House, Devon. Its somewhere I’ve wanted to cover a wedding for some time. Its set in a valley at the heart of South Devon somewhere between Modbury, Ivybridge and Ugborough and a stones through from where I grew up in South Brent. Shilstone has undergone major renovations over the past 15 or so years and the standard and quality of the work is outstanding putting the estate as one of the premier local wedding venues. You really get a sense of that throughout the day.
Sophie looked amazing in her dress, with a lace vintage look which was set off perfectly with her hair and make up. The boys were dressed in very stylish Grey suits with pale pink ties and handkerchiefs. The colours were perfect for what was a English country wedding on a perfect English summers day.
Below are my favourite images from the day. Please feel free to leave a comment for Sophie & Chris to read.
